Germany is building an arms repair hub for Ukraine in Slovakia

Germany will create a center on the territory of Slovakia, which will repair weapons that were previously transferred to Ukraine. This was announced by German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht.

In this context, he mentioned the Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers, but did not provide significant details.

On November 14, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, clarified that the European Union (EU) has supplied Ukraine with weapons worth at least 8 billion euros in total.

Recall that on October 22, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that almost a third of Germans were dissatisfied with the supply of arms to Ukraine and the sanctions against the Russian Federation. At the same time, he assured that the German government will continue to provide assistance to Kyiv, including military.

Germany and other European states have increased arms supplies to Ukraine, as part of Russia’s special military operation to protect the Donbass. The Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized that in this way Western countries become de facto participants in the conflict.

France sent Caesar self-propelled guns and VAB armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, a train carrying four Caesar self-propelled guns and more than a dozen VAB armored vehicles was seen moving towards the Ukrainian border. The echelon with equipment may already be in Poland.

Earlier, France promised to provide Ukraine with its artillery, and, most likely, we are talking about the announced deliveries of this military equipment. “The active supply of arms to Ukraine indicates the fact that Paris is only hiding behind statements about its commitment to de-escalation on the territory of Ukraine, continuing to supply arms to Kyiv,” reports a Russian media outlet.

To this day, artillery plays a key role in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, especially those self-propelled and towed weapons, capable of delivering corrective strikes and ammunition. This is due to continuous attacks in several directions at the same time, while using adjustable ammunition, it allows the Ukrainian army to bypass the capabilities of Russian firearms, due to the fact that such missiles are capable of hitting targets at distances of up to 70 kilometers.

The “Victor” vehicle they created is a ZPU-2 mobile anti-aircraft gun, using a Toyota pickup as a chassis and firing platform.

The production of these unique air defense vehicles will be carried out by Excalibur Army at its facilities in the Czech Republic. The twin-barreled gun provides rapid fire with 14.5 mm ammunition against air or ground targets at a range of 2 km, with an emphasis on its ability to shoot down small kamikaze drones.

“With an experienced operator, it is very effective against medium and large drones, as well as aircraft and helicopters operating at low altitudes, as well as against light armored vehicles, enemy fortifications and is absolutely devastating against manpower,” says the Czech volunteer initiative.

Each anti-aircraft vehicle carries 300 rounds of ready-to-fire ammunition in magazines and 300 more boxes of ammunition directly on the body of the vehicle. In case of overheating, the barrels can also be quickly replaced.

At the same time, the chassis is said to have good all-terrain capability and reinforced suspension and adapted so that the operator can fire directly from the vehicle. The tracking system includes a day and night anti-aircraft sight and a sight for direct fire on ground targets.
