According to the governor of the Russian part of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, Russian troops have gained control of almost the entire Dnieper River delta. Yesterday, Saldo revealed that Russian troops were fighting to liberate the Korabel neighborhood of Kherson, which is located on the Quarantine islet. This islet is in turn located in the Dnieper River and a few days ago the Russian army announced the capture of most of it.
The Battle for the Dnieper
Russian and Ukrainian military correspondents and commentators have provided more information about the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian fighting in the Dnieper River area in the southern Kherson region.
A reputable Russian military source specifically reported that the Kherson Shipyard has come under the control of the Russian armed forces. At the moment, Moscow’s soldiers are rapidly occupying houses and industrial facilities in this sector of the front.
Unconfirmed information Rumors also have it that the Kremlin has bombed and destroyed the bridge connecting the Kherson region’s hinterland with the Quarantine islet in the Dnieper River. If this is confirmed, it will mean that Kiev will, from now on, have great difficulty transporting supplies to its forces fighting in the Korabel neighborhood of the island.
Russian Telegram channels are jointly claiming that one reason their army’s amphibious operations on the Dnieper River are so successful is their advanced electronic warfare systems, such as the Tirada-2S station. This system was designed to disable the Ukrainian army’s Starlink “dishes” within a radius of several kilometers. Without satellite and internet connectivity, the Ukrainians’ defense efforts are greatly hampered.
Russian military experts also praise the Russian army’s sabotage groups, which have achieved many successes in the Dnieper River direction.
