At noon on September 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of the village of Memrik in Donetsk. The attack by Russian troops on Pokrovsk now threatens not only its garrison and important supply lines for the Ukrainian armed forces in the Donbass, but also Ukrainian troops south of the city.
The Russian Armed Forces approached more than 7 km. At the same time, they surrounded and destroyed the Ukrainian forces holding the defensive line between the village of Memrik and the Voltsya River.
As a result of the Russian attacks, a ledge appeared, which, after several decisive maneuvers of the Russian Armed Forces, will turn into a trap for hundreds of fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian sources reported that Russian troops took control of Vodujyanou in the direction of Uglendar.
Russian military officers, relying on their own intelligence sources, noted that the advance of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region has stopped and, although the fighting in the region is still adversarial in nature, the Ukrainians are retreating.
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not ready to come to terms with this state of affairs, continues to build up reserves in the adjacent Sumy region.
European media are reporting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s “peace plan” for Ukraine, and British and American media are screaming in every possible way that the situation on the Ukrainian fronts for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is worsening with a deplorable turn of events.
Russian Armed Forces capture a village in Donetsk and enter another “Units of the “Center” force group, as a result of active and decisive actions, captured the Donetsk village of Memrik,” says a summary of the progress of the Russian military operation from Moscow.
Memrik is a village in the urban community of Novogrodovsk, located eight kilometers east of Selindovo.
From Memrik Russian forces will be able to attack both Selindovo to the east and Gormyak and Ukrainsk to the north.
In just one day, Russian units of the “Center” group repelled eight counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and attacked the positions of the 142nd Infantry Battalion, the 71st Jaeger Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the 109th Territorial Defense Brigade, in the areas of Kalinovo, Mykhailovka, Rozovka and Druzba.
The Ukrainians lost 560 soldiers, four armored fighting vehicles, three vehicles, one 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled gun, one Msta-B howitzer, one D-20 gun and four D-30 howitzers.
In the area of the village of Grusevaka, in the Kharkiv region, Russian drone operators located the location of the command center of the Kupyansk group of Ukrainians.
The coordinates of the headquarters were transmitted to the Russian Air Force immediately, and at the moment of maximum concentration of personnel, a Russian fighter dropped a FAB bomb, killing everyone.
“The effectiveness of the strike can be judged by the arrival of the evacuation vehicles, which of course were detected by Russian “winged” reconnaissance vehicles, which transmitted the coordinates to the MLRS systems that took over the job,” concludes Russian media.

Gerasimov’s announcement on the Ukrainian invasion of Kursk
As is known, Ukrainian units on the morning of August 6 went on the offensive with the aim of occupying territories in the Kursk region. As the head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov clarified, their advance was stopped. He stressed that the operation in the area will be completed with the defeat of the enemy and access to the state border.
The Russians thwarted an attempt to advance Ukrainian forces in two areas in the Kursk region, the Chechen and Akhmat Regiment commander, deputy head of the main military-political directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General A. Alauddinov, said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
“The enemy tried to overpower us in two areas today, to our delight, but he didn’t succeed,” he said.
The fighting is inhumanly fierce according to local sources and both sides are giving their all to survive in an all-round terrible battlefield, in which due to the new types of weapons (especially drones) the average time presence has been reduced to minutes of hour, even for experienced fighters.
