The Russian news agency RIA Novosti announced that Russian troops captured the village of Staritsa in the Kharkiv region and are continuing their attack, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Units of the “North” force group, as a result of active operations, liberated the village of Staritsa, in the Kharkiv area, and continued to advance into the depths of the enemy’s defenses,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

If the Russian troops manage to penetrate all three of these villages, it will completely isolate Volansk, the days of the Ukrainian garrison in the city are numbered.
In addition, Russian forces defeated the personnel and equipment of the 106th, 113th, 129th territorial brigades in the areas of the villages of Veterinarnoe, Miropolye (Kharkov region) and Loknya (Sumi region).
During the day, Russian forces repelled four counterattacks by the 42nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, the 57th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, belonging to the 82nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 125th Air Defense Brigade, in the Liptsov, Tikhai and Volansk regions.
700 Ukrainians killed in one day fighting with Russian forces
The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that the military units of the “South” group killed almost 700 Ukrainian servicemen in one day.
“Military personnel of Force Group “South” also improved the position along the front line, inflicting significant damage on the enemy,” the announcement emphasizes.
Progress also exists in the area of responsibility of the “eastern” Russian military units.
Russian forces inflicted casualties on soldiers and material of the 58th and 128th Ukrainian brigades operating in the area of Urozhaynoe and Staramayorskoe settlements in the Donetsk region.
Units of the 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade and the 110th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are operating against the Russian force group “West”.
“Our soldiers defeated them in the area of Ivanonvka and Sinovka settlements in the Kharkiv region, as well as near Artemovka. In the Chervona Dibrova region of Luhansk, Russian fighters pounded the Ukrainian 63rd Mechanized Brigade, while its attack on Russian forces was repulsed.
“During the day, in this part of the front, the enemy lost 270 soldiers killed and wounded. “The soldiers of the “South” force group also managed to improve their position, defeating the enemy in the region of Konstantinovka, Krasnogorovka and Novo”, the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense concludes.
