The new Russian tactic, which focuses on increased infantry attacks against the Ukrainian city, is reminiscent of a past tactic used by Russian forces against Avdiivka recently, in which they surrounded Avdiivka with multiple armored vehicles in each assault. Western experts had reported that in October more than 200 armored personnel carriers had been lost in a failed operation to capture the city.

“Convoys of tanks and armored fighting vehicles were advancing,” recalls a Ukrainian drone operator who goes by the name Trauma. Trauma stated that most of the time the Russian soldiers advance during the evening hours, in groups of five to seven fighters.

The Ukrainian response comes with the help of various weapon systems, including artillery, mortars, grenades and drones, as well as the 25mm Chain Guns of the US M2 Bradley armored fighting vehicles.
