The Russian Defense Ministry published on Tuesday a list of monetary rewards to be given to Russian soldiers who, in the conflict in Ukraine, managed to destroy the weapons of Ukrainian troops or neutralize a large number of them, the rewards ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 rubles (between 800 and 5,000 euros).
Thus, those who destroy drones, armored personnel carriers, S-300 anti-aircraft systems or multiple rocket launchers of the Ukrainian army will receive 50,000 rubles. The reward increases to 100,000 rubles for Russian soldiers who destroy tanks and reaches a maximum of 300,000 rubles for shooting down Ukrainian fighter jets.
For Russian soldiers who help remove a large number of Ukrainian troops from the battle, the reward is up to 100,000 rubles. The initiative of the Russian Ministry of Defense is part of a series of measures aimed at increasing the morale and motivation of Russian troops involved in the war in Ukraine, writes EFE.
The lack of motivation contributed greatly to the poor performance of the Russian army, which in the first days of the invasion that began on February 24 managed to seize large Ukrainian territories, but in the meantime had to deal with Ukrainian resistance. or counterattacks for withdrawal from several fronts, first around the capital Kyiv, then from the northeastern region of Kharkiv, and recently from the north of the southern province of Kherson.
